BINARY DEATH 20XX: Interdisciplinary All-Trans Art Show and Exhibition

All-Trans Art Exhibition
2017

Role:
Gallery Assistant, Featured Poet
Organizers:
Local queer and trans artist collective
Venue:
SUPERFUN, Gainesville, Florida
Project Description

A multimedia art show and exhibition organized and curated by local queer and trans artists, featuring visual artwork, live performances, and soundscapes. My contributions included gallery setup assistance and a live poetry reading, supporting a community-centered exhibition creating space for trans artistic expression.

Exhibition Support

  • Gallery installation and spatial design assistance
  • Coordination with exhibition organizers on layout and logistics
  • Technical setup for multiple media formats (visual art, performance, sound)

Artistic Contribution

Conducted live poetry reading addressing [themes if you remember: trans embodiment, futurity, resistance, etc.], documented on YouTube. The reading engaged with the exhibition's themes of trans existence, resistance, and worldmaking.

Community Impact

This all-trans exhibition created vital cultural space in a region with limited institutional support for trans artists. The collective organizing model demonstrated grassroots approaches to cultural production and community care through art-making.
